 Year 8 – Young Enterprise Programme

 Shaunagh Brolly, Young Enterprise facilitator, brought a lot of excitement to an otherwise ordinary Friday at Coleraine College when she facilitated the Your School Your Business programme.

 The Year 8 pupils worked in small groups with a VI Form mentor on a variety of activities which aimed to identify and encourage their enterprise potential.

 This programme helps the Year 8 pupils adapt and integrate into their every day life at ‘Big School’.  It helps them to get to know each other better and deepen friendships, develop closer relationships with older pupils, and explore the roles of staff - both teaching and non-teaching - within the school.

 The Year 8 pupils develop their communication and presentation skills during the session. Most of the pupils agreed that their confidence and ability to deal with new situations had increased.  The most enjoyable activity was the Hunt for Human Treasure and the Year 8 pupils were amazed to find out just how many staff had met a famous and been on TV.
