Pastoral Care
When pupils enter the school in Year 8, they will be allocated to a class group. This class will have its own Form Teacher who will be responsible for looking after the pupils in his or her care. There will be a responsibility to monitor attendance, behaviour and progress. However, the role of the Form Teacher will go beyond this to include a pastoral concern and a care for the individual pupils. The boys and girls should feel free to approach the Form Teacher for a chat if they are concerned about any issues. Form teachers and their class will come in contact at various times during the week in subject or pastoral lessons. There is also a Head of Year who has responsibility to all pupils in the year. The Head of Year will have an overview of the year group and will co-ordinate the work of the various Form teachers. Mrs Smyth is Head of Year 8. Mme Skobel is the Vice Principal for the school and oversees the performance and pastoral care of all pupils.
